While Goodwill is not a relief organization, we realize many individuals
will wish to contribute used clothing and/or household items to help those who
have been affected by this recent tragedy. Because of this, Goodwill Southern
California (GSC) is partnering with the
American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles to accept clothing and/or household
donations to assist victims of the wildfires.
The value of your
donation will translate into a free voucher good at any one of our GSC retail
locations for fire victims.
Want to donate?
To donate items for
individuals affected by recent wildfires, please go to any one of Goodwill
Southern California’s 100 plus locations located throughout Los Angeles (north
of Rosecrans), Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
If you do not know your
closest location, please go to the store locator listed on the upper right-hand
corner of this Home web page or call our main number (888) 4-GOODWILL and
press the number one to find the Goodwill location nearest you.
FAQ’s:
·
Will my donated items go directly to the fire victims? The
value of your donation will go directly to the fire victims, but the shirt or
blanket you donated may or may not be chosen by a voucher recipient shopping the
stores. Red Cross voucher recipients are given the leeway and the dignity to
shop with their vouchers at any Goodwill Southern California store allowing them
a wider choice and the time to shop at their convenience.
·
Can I donate food or water to my local Goodwill? No food or
water can be accepted by Goodwill. Instead please call American Red Cross to
find your local food shelter or drop-off station.
·
Is my donation tax deductible? Yes. Please request a
receipt at time of donation.
·
How can my company or organization help? Goodwill accepts
donations from clothing/household item drives. To discuss hosting a drive in
your area, please first contact our Community Relations Department for more
information on our partnership program by calling Vice President Mario Haug at
(323) 539-2030 or Community Relations Manager Christianne Ray at (323) 539-2095.
Requesting vouchers?
If you are in need of a
free voucher, please contact the American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles
directly by calling 1-800-REDCROSS or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish) or by
visiting
